Get ready to unleash your creativity and Halloween spirit! 🎨🎃 Philly SIGGRAPH is hosting a fun, virtual event on Discord, and we’d love for you to join us!

 Date: Thursday, October 24th
 Time: 6:00 – 7:15 PM

Event Breakdown:

  • 5 minutes: We’ll kick off by sharing some source files and going over the basic rules.
  • 60 minutes: Time to get spooky! Sculpt a 3D pumpkin in any style using your favorite software or illustrate a Halloween-themed character or scene (funny, spooky, you name it!).
  • 10 minutes: Show off your masterpiece! We’ll wrap up with a quick “show and tell” session.

Feeling competitive? Start from one of our templates and enter to win a prize, or bring your own project to create alongside us.

Prizes:

  • 3D projects: Win a 3D-printed miniature
  • 2D projects: Take home a framed print

Plus, from 10/25 to Halloween, SIGGRAPH members will vote for their favorite designs via a Discord poll.

Our first event, a screening of the ACM SIGGRAPH 2023 Computer Animation Festival at Cesium was a smashing success, with over 60 people in attendance! Thank you for showing out for such a wonderful evening of computer graphics excellence. 

But we’re not sitting on that success. In fact, for our next event, we’re hoping YOU might supply the art. Yes, that’s right, it’s a Bring Your Own Art and Animation (BYOA) event. Screen works-in-progress, get feedback and encouragement, and enjoy some more great times with the Philly SIGGRAPH community. You don’t have to share your work to participate though – it will be great to have you there anyway.

Note that this is a VIRTUAL event that will happen on our Discord server (see below on how to join).

Philly SIGGRAPH Chapter Preparing to Launch!

We are excited to announce that the ACM SIGGRAPH Philadelphia Professional Chapter has been officially chartered!

We are so grateful for the interest in starting the newest local professional chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH. Thanks to the overwhelming response we received from the local computer graphics community, we were able to submit our petition to charter early Fall 2023 and meet the requirements for founding a chapter.
