Intro to Touch Designer

Join us for a hands-on introduction to TouchDesigner, the node-based visual programming tool for real-time graphics. This is the first session of an upcoming series, designed to give you a solid foundation. In this workshop, you’ll get comfortable navigating TouchDesigner’s network and learn how to work with TOPs (Texture Operators), POPs(Particle Operators) and CHOPs(Channel Operators) to build and manipulate visuals using external data. You’ll learn how to route sound into your network and use it to drive parameters like scale, color, and motion in real time. By the end of the session you’ll leave with: A working knowledge of TouchDesigner’s core operators and how to connect them into a network An audio-reactive TouchDesigner file you can keep experimenting with The foundational skills needed for Part 2, where we’ll explore importing datasets and building data-driven visuals.

💻 What you’ll need:
A laptop with TouchDesigner installed. The software is free to use, and no prior experience is required.
