After Worlds Exclusive Preshow Meetup

Part of this year’s FringeArts Festival, After Worlds isn’t just a performance, it’s a journey. Told through second-person soundscapes and projected data clouds, it pulls audiences into an ever-deepening archival rabbit hole, asking you to explore who you’ve always been.

Join Taj Rauch as he delves into the process behind his latest project, After Worlds. This demo will explore how the project started as an epic poem in the second person, and evolved to be built on new technologies for greater storytelling. Highlights include exploring modern 3D scanning methods like Gaussian Splatting, as well as designing systems for choose-your-own-adventure models of play.

Algorave: A Open Mic for Visual Artists

Sept 9th | 7–10 PM
This event will take place on the second Tuesday of every other month

Post Haste
2519 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125

Experience a night of live visuals and creative exploration at Post Haste with Siggraph Philly’s Algorave, an open mic for visual artists of all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned VJ or simply curious about generative art, come play, experiment, and jam with us. RSVP + details below!

Join Siggraph Philly for a night of live visuals and creative exploration at Algorave, an open mic for visual artists of all levels. Whether you’re a VJ veteran or just curious about generative art, this is your space to play and experiment.

We’ll kick off the evening with a hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop led by UPenn Professors Ana Estarita and Rui Hwang, using Hydra, a browser-based tool for creating real-time visuals. No downloads, no installs, just open your browser and dive in. The workshop will start at 7.15 pm.

After the workshop, the mic and screen are yours. Jam live with generative visuals and create alongside music. Think glitch art and interactive motion. Anything goes.

This is a night of experimentation and play, not perfection. We’re here to try things, mess up, remix, and create something unexpected together.

This is a free event, but we kindly ask that you support us by purchasing at least 1–2 drinks. Your support helps us continue to host more great events!

What to Expect:

  • A fast, fun intro to live visuals with Hydra
  • Music-fueled, interactive visual performances
  • Cocktails + chill vibes by Post Haste
  • A welcoming space for creativity, connection, and discovery

Bring your laptop if you want to jam. We’ll also have a shared laptop set up for anyone to use. And if you’d rather just watch and take it all in, observers are absolutely welcome.

No experience needed, just curiosity.

Let’s make something unforgettable together.

Digital Design: From Pixels to Prototypes

Curious about designing digital interactives, but not sure where to begin?

This session introduces the creative landscape of interactive experiences—exploring how interactive media, animation, and spatial storytelling can drive audience engagement in powerful and playful ways. Case studies from museums, aquariums, and web projects will ground these concepts in real-world practice, showing a range of approaches for activating public spaces and connecting with audiences at home.

We’ll walk through a practical design process that emphasizes idea scoping, low-fidelity prototyping, and rapid iteration—everything you need to start turning sketches into screens. Whether you’re an artist, designer, or entrepreneur, you’ll leave with a no-code toolkit to help you prototype interactive concepts and share them with target audiences, collaborators, and stakeholders.
